Bogger beta links "hack"

Por | 4 de Setembro de 2006
I recently migrated/switched to blogger beta and started to customize the template and added my blog links but i found that when the links are clicked they open in the same page taking your blog visitor away from your blog.

One simple way to avoid this is by adding the target=”_blank” to your link url, but adding that to every link on the Links List widget throws a error back a us, so all you have to do is instead of using the “Link List” widget to add your links you can use the “HTML/Javascript” widget to do it.

Go to your DASHBOARD >>>> click on SETTINGS>>>>>click on TEMPLATE and you should be at your blog “drag and drop” template interface, click on ADD A PAGE ELEMENT and select option HTML/JAVASCRIPT.

In the title field write Links, in the content field we are going to put our links as follows:

<p><a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">Google</a></p>

<p><a href="http://bloggeratto.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Bloggeratto</a></p>

<p><a href="http://hackosphere.blogspot.com" target="_blank">Hackosphere</a>
</p>

You need to edit the URL's and link names with your own links.

the target=”_blank” will make it open on a new window when a visitor clicks on that link.

the <p> and </p> at the begining/end of each link will arrange the links by paragraphs.

Ps: If any of the blogger employees read this, can they enable this in the “Link list” widgets? kind of a checkbox/option.
